The fabric helps to prevent tree roots from growing in a certain direction. This is accomplished by the use of herbicide nodules called Trifluralin. Trifluralin is safe for the tree, but prevents tree root tip cell division.
Our Sidewalk Root Barrier is permeable and allows water and nutrients to flow through the fabric. The soil hydrology is not adversely affected.
